About This Site

This page is used to communicate both planned maintenance and unplanned outages affecting EMU I.T. computing systems.

All planned maintenance for major EMU systems is scheduled in conjunction with the ERP-Business Operations Committee (BOC). The BOC includes representation from various campus units and Faculty Senate. Maintenance dates can be found on the Maintenance Calendar which is published annually in December for the coming calendar year.

Planned NETWORK Maintenance May 20, 18:00 - May 21, 00:00 EDT
Update - We will be undergoing scheduled maintenance during this time.

Scheduled - Maintenance of EMU's network equipment is scheduled for Friday, May 20th, beginning at 6 p.m. and completing by midnight. During the maintenance all systems will remain online, but access to those systems will be disrupted as maintenance is performed.

> Maintenance will be performed on the Mark Jefferson building network, which will result in a localized network outage of up to two hours for that building during the window.

> Maintenance will be performed on various network distribution hardware across campus, which will cause sporadic service disruptions of up to an hour during the window.

This maintenance may be completed before the end of the allocated window. However, the full window is reserved in case issues emerge during the work. This maintenance is scheduled for this date and time to minimize impact on students, faculty and their access to campus services. Please plan to schedule work around these outages.

Cloud based services such as Google Mail and Canvas will remain accessible to anyone working from an off-campus location.

Scheduled - On this upcoming Saturday May 7th 2022 8AM to 8PM EDT, We will be performing an upgrade to our Cisco ISE Infrastucture.

ISE is a redundant platform and while we do not anticipate any downtime, The platform is associated with Wireless Access, Remote Device Administration and Monitoring.

To ensure uptime and stability of the platform, this upgrade will take place during this weekend SOW (Scheduled Outage Window)

During this maintenance window all operation shall continue business as usual.

The maintenance may be completed before the end of the allocated window however, The full window is reserved in case issues emerge during the work.

This maintenance is scheduled for this date and time to minimize impact on students, faculty and their access to campus services associated with this system.
