Scheduled

Maintenance of EMU's network equipment is scheduled for Friday, March 21, beginning at 6 p.m. and completing by midnight. During the maintenance all systems will remain online, but access to those systems will be disrupted as maintenance is performed.

Maintenance will be performed on several core network services related to Domain Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), and wireless network authentication services during this window. This work will affect wired and wireless network connectivity across the entire network during the window.

Maintenance will also be performed on the voice gateways for Pierce Hall which will cause at least one VoIP phone outage for phones in that facility at some point within this window. During the outage(s), VoIP phones will be unable to place or receive calls for up to 30 minutes.

This maintenance may be completed before the end of the allocated window. However, the full window is reserved in case issues emerge during the work. This maintenance is scheduled for this date and time to minimize impact on students, faculty and their access to campus services. Please plan to schedule work around these outages.

Cloud based services such as Google Mail and Canvas will remain accessible to anyone working from an off-campus location.

Please contact the Help Desk at (734) 487-2120 if you have any questions about this scheduled downtime. We appreciate your patience during this important and required system outage.
